The American public has such a short memory that all of the sex scandals we are talking about today will be forgotten by September, if not earlier. The only way this will affect the elections in 2010 is if there is a continued string of sex scandals for one party or the other.

Why would anyone believe that these sex scandals might effect the Republican voters? If Republicans do it, its a mistake... we all make mistakes, and God forgives. This is the same group, however, that sent Ken Starr on a witch hunt resulting in Clinton's impeachment. Obviously, God doesn't forgive Baptists. This is the same group that continues to embrace a limited policy of teaching abstinence only... even after their hero Palin's unwed daughter proved the futility of such a ludicrous policy. The hypocrisy and double standards of the Republican party never cease to amaze me.

I think these things are local and will not affect national elections. I doubt if they will even overshadow the elections in the states where they occurred. A lot more is going to be riding on the economy...

Jack, consider this: None of the female public officials in either party are getting into sex scandals. NONE! (Not even Sarah Palin!) We women are getting sick of men who have such low self control that they cannot keep their pants zipped! Men like that shouldn't be running the country! Maybe the GOP should start looking for some female candidates if they want to win races. I'm just sayin'!
