I don't think there's any programs/services left in my state to cut. So I guess I'll take the raising taxes choice. Thier probally going to do that anyway.

Raise Taxes!

Just change all taxes back to where they were 8 years ago - times were really good way back then - you know, Before Bush.

We can't afford to raise taxes. Crimping consumer spending any further would be insane in this kind of economy.
We can't afford to cut services. They've already been slashed to the bone and many will be needing them now more than ever.
We can't afford not to choose. Failing to do so means pushing already high budget deficits into the stratosphere.

Isn't this what happens in a recession? We're unable to afford anything?

I think the state should cut spending on certain earmarks that are not deemed very necessary. This would diminish the quality of services that we recieve from our state, but that money can be used elsewhere. If the state raise taxes, it would hurt the middle class families. As the economy deteriorates, every individual and families as well need to ratain as much money as they can.

I think the states that are in trouble should do both. This may be a socialist or marxist or communist view, but I think they should spread the pain of the burden - raise taxes and lower expenses by cutting and improving cost efficiency for necessary programs.

Why cut services to citizens?

Let's start with cutting services to illegals.
These numbers and costs are increasing faster that we can count.

How in heaven can taxes be raised when there are no jobs? And we are loosing our homes so there's no property tax to raise! Shall we raise the taxes on the Chineese & Mexican products we now buy which used to be manufactured here?
Cut services? When the rug is being ripped out from under so many Americans, services are needed. .
Do what it takes to bring JOBS back to the US & then maybe we won't loose our homes or NEED these services so many want to cut.
We are in a mess & we trully are ALL in this together.
