I think the Bush administration has wasted enough time (8 years) and national resources (trillions of dollars). Any time spent investigating the administration, while perhaps morally rewarding, would just be more wasteful. Congress should get to the work of running the country and getting us out of the hole we're in. Leave punishing Bush/Cheney to history and God.

Two things need to be done to begin to remove the taint of the last eight years under the Bush administration. First is to repudiate the administration at the ballot box. This has happened decisively with the election of President-elect Obama, and the Democratic majority in Congress. Next is to hold the administration accountable for what has been done. That will require investigation to expose the secrets, to uncover any and all broken laws, and to expose any guilty of lawbreaking to the wheels of justice. Unfortunately, there has been too much smoke coming from the government to believe that there wasn't a lot of law-breaking going on. If it is not exposed to the light of day, it will continue to fester and to undermine American Democracy.

The answer is quite obvious, if Bush is not investigated, that would make it o.k for any future US presidents to be above the law. your choice America.

No, but it is a good idea for all of congress and senate (democrats, republicans and independents) to investigate the wrongdoing over the past several years and let the chips fall where they may. Of course this will never happen because the fox is investigating who stole the chickens.

I say the wise thing to do would be for President Obama to sign a blanket pardon the way Ford did for Nixon. End the fighting over the last President and move on to face the issues. Most are the same ones - an unpopular war, oil woes and economic issues. Learn from the past. If not, every new presidency will usher in years of investigations over the last one. Nothing will get done.

Simply Put, Yes the Democrats should investigate the Bush White House, but ONLY if they have the guts and integrity to go forward with something more than a gripe session. Save me the drama.

As much as I would like to see the Bush administration held accountable for its actions, I would like more to be able to put this all behind us. Gerald Ford wisely decided to pardon Nixon so this country could heal and move on. This seems like another point in history when we should just move on.

It would be nice to have closure on the outing of a CIA agent as well as other abuses of power, which are almost too many to count. Sadly, the country is in such depressed conditions it would distract from the effort to clean up the mess this administration is leaving behind.

I would like to see a published list of all of the signing statements and executive orders signed by the Decider over the past 8 years. I think disclosure of these would provide insight into the way the Bush administration acted and interpreted the powers of the executive office.
