When John McCain chose Sarah Palin , I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. The problem with the Palin pick is that McCain didn't pick an educated Woman. It is a bit demeaning to women every where, because McCain picked a lady that fits the stereotype that many believe is what the American House Wife looks like.
It's a shame that while he may have had good intentions it has really hurt the standing among women overal. If McCain had chosen Hillary Clinton to be his running mate he would have chosen a Bright, intelligent woman with a Foriegn relations background. Instead of the " I can see Russia from my back door" kind of sillyness that Palin believes makes her qualified. and I say to that " You betcha"

Yes, it was a huge mistake. I consider myself as a republican and didn't have any problem with voting for McCain until he chose Palin as his running mate. Now, i can't vote for him because of her. What if something happens to him during next four years, i can't stand that Sarah Palin would be the president of this country.
This choice also insults Hillary Clinton's female voters. They rooted for Hillary not because she is female but because she is capable.

Unfortunately McCain failed to realize that winning the Republican primary made him the defacto head of the party and he could change the party direction and conversation with the voters, particularly the independents. His failure was complete with the choice of Palin, who could excite the Republican base (which he already had) but brought in few independents.

McCain's choice of Palin for VP was a HUGE mistake! It is an embarrassment to him, her, and this country. If McCain truly wanted 'Country First', he certainly didn't prove it with the choice of 'that one'! The choice of Palin was a 'slap' in the face to many women in the country, and it was purely a ploy to get women to vote for the Republican ticket since Hillary wasn't on Obama's ticket. Well, it didn't work, and in fact, it backfired. She has absolutely no business being on the ticket with so many more qualified men/women Republicans from which to choose. In fact, I'd probably move to Canada if McCain/Palin won!

Hey Jack,
Challenge your viewers to this: If you are not happy with the present candidates, write in Hillary Clinton,,,,then tune in on November 4th and see who wins. You don't have the guts Jack, because you know I am right. I double dare you, Jack.

Can I just say to Allie in North Carolina, Thank you! I live in New Jersey and work in Manhattan. I am infuriated by the constant comments that we are elitist anti-americans. We ARE ground zero.

We have shown the strength of the American people, and what the entire country should aspire to, in moving past and learning from this horrible time in our history. We have not crumbled or succumbed to the easy scape-goat blaming game that McCain and especially Palin roust out of their followers.

Cries of "terrorist" should not be condoned or ignored. I wonder if now that Al Qaeda has backed McCain (See the New York Times) this will be nipped in the bud more effectively?

I would accuse Palin of dumbing things down to speak to Joe Six-pack (quite irritating), but I'm not sure it is an act...

For the Republicans, it was a mistake.

For the Democrats, Sarah Palin is the gift that keeps on giving.
