Jack,
Joe Biden speaks his mind and I think comparing his rhetorical comments and political party protocol missteps to Palin's painful lack of global knowledge is unfair. He is definitely an asset to the campaign. You and CNN are wrong about the Joe's reference to the Great Depression. The stock market may have topped in 1929 during Hoover's administration but the brunt of the Depression and the resulting bank failures occurred throughout the 1930's. In fact during FDR's televised inaugural address he offered his famous quote "we have nothing to fear...but fear itself". Joe's quote "When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened,'" Barack Obama's running mate recently told the "CBS Evening News." I see no 1929 reference... the crash took years... and FDR was televised. "No bull..No Bias?" Come on.... CNN can do better than this.!

Joe Biden is intelligent, honest, and highly qualified. Definitely an asset! We don't have to wonder if Joe Biden is being honest...he obviously tells us what is on his mind. He's an excellent pick for VP.

He is qualified. While not everyone will agree with him or his opinions, most will probably concede the point on his qualification. Palin is another story alltogether.

He may occaisionally shoot his mouth off, but at least he's intelligible. More than I can say for Palin.

an asset? absolutely! sure biden is a gaff machine but unlike his republican counterpart, no one doubts his integrity, competency or ability to lead. and if the republicans want to talk about character, how about a guy who served his country most of his life yet managed to always be there for his boys. Joe traded in a Washington social life for a 4 hour daily round trip commute to make sure he was home to kiss his sons goodnight
comparing joe biden to sarah palin is like comparing Babe Ruth to marvelous Marv Throneberry.

Hey, lay off of Joe Biden! He is intelligent, has articulated more intelligence and experience regarding foreign affairs than either John McCain , or well, it goes without saying, Sarah Palin, and speaks from his heart, of which he has alot! He is also forthright and honest! YES! He is an asset to Obama.

Jack:

Biden is clearly an asset to Senator Obama because of his all around experience. But for Obama's sake, he better hope that Joe Biden leaves his asset on a park bench somewhere until election
day and just let Obama doing the talking until then.

Jack,

The media really just doesn't understand the impact Joe is having on Obama's election. While the media makes jokes about the three of four mistakes Joe has made, those same working class Hillary voters people said would never move over to Obama, are being courted by Joe Biden and are helping to win states like Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

He may not be perfect, but to those working-class whites who come out to see him, that is precisely why he is.
