Jack, the same 28% that stubbornly supports G W Bush after 8 years of PROVEN FAILURE will support Sarah Palin to that extent she will help John McCain. I must say that I terribly dissapointed in John McCain. He seems to have morphed into nothing more than yet another Republican Rubber Stamp for the Religious Right with his choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate. I honestly thought John McCain would at least bring some sanity back to election campagining in the U.S.A. His choice of Sarah Palin has clearly shown that he REALLY is nothing more than an 'empty suit' after all.

She has absolutely helped John McCain. Most Republicans were not enthralled with a McCain candidacy...that is until the self-described "hockey-mom" came on to the scene. After hearing her speak, can anyone doubt the sincerity, tenacity and fortitude of this remarkable woman? Her coming to Washington would bring what Democrats and Republicans want....REAL CHANGE. Of course the liberal media and the left-wing of the Democratic party do not like her. She speaks in plain, no-nonsense language that most middle-class Americans, (you know, the ones that cling to their guns and religion) can relate to. I pose a question: if Obama were not an African-American, would he even be the Democratic candidate? Certainly his election was not based upon any substantial executive decisions or record of legislative experience.... that advantage would have undoubtedly went to Hillary Clinton.

Jack,

She helps McCain in the short term by energizing the base. She hurts him in the long run because the Media will vet her since McCain would or could not.

My 82 year old mother who is a lifetime Democrat and even a community organizer for her small town has just made a donation that will cover the expenses for the Republican party in her small town. She has jumped ship because of the speech of Sarah Palin and the way the Democrats dumped Hillary. She is now a registered Republican and will cast her first vote for a Republican.

A better question is whether or not Palin can help the country. The answer is a resounding, "No." The choice of her as GOP Veep was reckless and ill-considered, putting the country in potential peril. McCain has done the nation a huge disservice. He should pay the penaly for that gambit--banishment to Sonoma.

she's a disaster. McCain should think strongly about replacing her now while there is still time.

Jack,
The fact that 37 Million folks tuned in to listen to Sarah Palin speak is a plus for the McCain campaign. There will be continued interest in the near term from most voting citizen. Hopefully most voters will eventually make decisions based on McCain & Palin's position on issues and their programs vs those of Obama & Biden. This heightened exposure and energy gives them that chance. I will pay attention.

Obama was right. They're going to make a big election about small things.

Her speech did not help McCain. It was just sarcasm. Thanks, but no thanks, Ms. Palin.
