To Vegas- what history are you talking about? Cheney closed more military bases and reduced the numbers of of our miltary forces. And speaking of doing well, you obviously must be a rich republican because nobody else has prosperer during the past eight(8) years.

Maybe they know that McCain only has a 20% rating from Disabled Veterans of America compared to the 80% rating Obama has, or that McCain got a D from the IAVA (Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans for America) while Obama got a B+. That speaks volumes about who cares more about the troops.

I think the donations are an indication that military personnel are
hopeful of change. McCain is a new bush, we need a president who is
willing to attempt diplomacy instead of rattling sabers. McCain and other full time warriors must learn that peace is often negotiated.

Jack,
It's no surprise to me that our battle weary, multi-time redeployed, soldiers whose lives coninue to be devestated by our present, illogic Republican administration decisions ...back McCain's opposition.

Think about it. Would you as a combat exposed vet back , McCain? ? He's a military-educated, quick -tempered, Bush-hugging advocate of more of the same,...... arrogant, and incompetent, war mongering ?

Doesn't a six to one donation ratio, plus watching their brothers in arms dying in a senseless war make your question just kind of stupid Captain Obvious?

Republicans have abused our troops and stretched them inhumanely, not to mention abandoned them after their service. Is it any surprise they'd want a change?

When Obama was in Iraq and did his foreign tour he not only talked to the military personell, but he actually listened to what they had to say and let them know that he would do what he could to get them home as soon as possible.
When Obama toured Iraq and Europe he showed what a powerful foreign relations person he is. That means a lot to to those serving our country wherever they're stationed. John McCain is so hung up on his own experiences and "superior" knowledge that he doesn't listen to anyone but himself.

Many in the military are young and can identify with Obama. There are many who want to continue to fight even after being wounded, and they continue to re enlist to finish the fight. I don't know if that means they are voting for Obama because they want to come home, or they are just young and want a youger man they can identify with as president.
