He has let us all down. He was one of the good guys, I think we all let our guard down when it came to him. He had a tragic family history and it continues with a wife who is suffering from incurable cancer. The thing is, Edwards put himself out there as, if not holier than thou, at least genuine. It made us forget that he was an accomplished trial lawyer, able to take down giant corporations. The shark was hiding in the weeds. In this case, it's not so much the sin, it's the sinner. Why would he ask us to donate to his campaign when he must have known he didn't have a chance with this blimish. I am not so out of touch as to think this doesn't happen and often. It's just that when he said America needed someone with the moral authority to lead I knew he was right and I believed it was him. It has been years since RFK and I so believed in him. I had finally come to trust and feel there was hope again. Right now I am just so very disappointed and feel so much love for Elizabeth.
