Michelle Obama is not immune to attacks either by the GOP or the media.

Look at what was done to Senator Clinton when her husband was running for President. The woman was villified for not being a "stay at home" wife and mother. She was attacked for being educated, a successful lawyer and for wanting to contribute her knowledge, energy and time to her husband's campaign. Mrs. Obama is no different. For those narrow-minded morons (Barbara Bush, etc.) who had the nerve to refer to Mrs. Clinton as that "B....," Michelle Obama is a perfect target.

The Republicans are desparate. they'll go after anything, anyone.
They should be desparate after Bush made a total ass of himself yesterday, once again in front of the whole world. God help us.

Hi Jack, The Republicans are so desperate that they think attacking Michelle Obama is a good idea. They're grasping at straws. They probably see that their candidate, John McCain is a terrible one, and has no chance of winning in November. I should know, I was, until recently a Republican. Now I'm actually an Independent, thanks to Lou Dobbs. I intend to vote for Obama, unless a good third party candidate shows up soon. I couldn't be paid to vote for McCain! I hope Obama can really unite the Country, we really need that. Thanks Jack

P.S. I am also a "former" Fox News viewer, you guys are the best!

Next thing the GOP will be claiming that Michelle Obama has weapons of mass destruction in her pocketbook. That one worked for them once before....

Is the GOP "Going after" Michelle or are they examining what she thinks? Michelle has injected herself into her husband's campaign unlike John McCain's wife who has stayed in the background. When a family member does this I think they deserve the scrutiny. She made that choice.

It's no secret that liberals don't care much for the US and would prefer we were more like socialist, secular Europe. They clearly believe that taking down the white, heterosexual, christian, male makes things better for everyone else. Anything big and successful is bad. Strength of any kind is evil. Men and woman should think and act the same and "Please don't hurt us" is an acceptable foreign policy.

I think it's fair to know if this is the type of "change" Michelle and her husband have in mind.

Yes, I think that the media's over reaction to any negative comments against the Obama campaign just continues to show its bias. Attacking a person who makes public comments in a public arena during a very important election season is open and fair game for those who wish to criticize. We forget that if Obama were to win, this lady and her views will have the ear of the most powerful and important man on Earth.

Mrs. Obama will have to mind her words as any to-be first lady. As to those she spoke in the past, certainly the opponents will claim they should be known and analyzed. Obama campaign may not expect they are out-of-reach just because they're apparently nice guys.

Jack,

Nothing that the GOP does surprises me anymore - absolutely nothing. To hear Bush make a mockery of a state visit to denounce those who would oppose his views is absolutely disgusting. His comments and rogue actions are the reason we have been diplomatically alienated by many countries.

Regarding going after Senator Obama's wife - that is off-limits in the way that the Tennessee GOP went about it. If McCain truly meant it when he said he wanted civility, he'd think a bit and realize that HIS wife may become a target, too. Perhaps that's why we haven't seen her on the stumps with her hubby that much...?
