If you look at these posts the answer is clear.....Republicans (who display proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar), generally have the education and training to become positive members of society, while Democrats (who display second-grade English skills) lament their failure to pay attention in English class.

The conservative (neo-conservative) world view is built on a foundation of lies and misrepresentations. They rationalize the world around them in terms of black and white and it makes it much easier to look past injustice, poverty, suffering, pain etc. Y, know, all the stuff their hero Jesus was talking about getting rid of. If you want to see the ultimate example of a conservative government working on all cylinders, look at the last 8 years. That is what happens when you predicate all your actions on lies and rigid ideology- abject failure and dysfunction. Still I'm POSITIVE there are conservatives out there who will say, "what?, what, the last 8 years have been great!?" True conservatives are excellent at denying reality and the complexity of the human experience. This leads them to be deep pathological liars, not only to themselves but all around them, in order to maintain the illusion that things really are as simple as they would like to believe.

Okay, let's generalize.

Liberals are basically unhappy because they see life and the world as being unfair, and they cannot get past that harsh truth. They want it all fixed, although most of them, in my experience, are not really up to the task themselves – and not willing to potentially sacrifice some of their own wealth or securities so that others could be better off.

Conservatives, on the other hand, also see life as unfair, but that it just is, was and will always be. Rather than complain about it, especially knowing they mostly live nearer the top of the food chain anyway, they accept it and enjoy their short lives to a greater extent and thus are "happier" for having done so.

Beyond generalizing, the real fact is we ALL have a bit of both of these perspectives within us. It's simply a matter of which we each choose to allow to control us.

Going back to the original definition of conservative, it means you do not want change. By definition you are happy with the government and the world.

I am a liberal, and want to improve the U.S. and the world. I am unhappy with a lot of things. Lets see, the war in Iraq, health care, the environment, high taxes on the middle class and low taxes on the filthy rich, the value of the dollar, lack of control over imports. If I listed everything, you would not have time to list them on TV.

Jack....I have found that the difference is as simple as the lack of concern about the future!...The fact that we are told to "Trust in the Lord with all thy might and lean not on our own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct our paths....... Those of faith are much more likely to be Republicans. Isn't that true ? I also believe that we are much more of a giving people (Our own finances ,time and talents)..Consequently happier.... Surely there's a pole on both of those statements. ....There's a pole on everything else....I don't pretend to know the thoughts and minds of my Democratic friends. Their is only one basic issue however that I cannot accept . If abortion is not in the mix I could easily be vote for a Democrat...

To be a conservative means you're the kind of person that can ignore a lot of problems of the poor and unfortunate people in this country. You have to be only concern with yourself to support what Bush and company have been shoveling. They're as happy as an ostrich with it's head in the sand.

Conservatives are independent and provide for themselves while liberals are dependent on the nanny state and provide nothing for themselves. It is hard to be happy when you are not independent.

For quite some time I've felt that people with low intelligence are not as bothered by inequalities, etc. Possibly this makes them happier than people with higher intelligence. Does this mean that Conservatives are less intelligent and are therefore happier?? We currently have a Conservative in the White House. I rest my case.
