I don't shop at the mall or Best Buy anymore. I only go to the grocery store, and try not to drive unless it is absolutlely necessary. I've cut down my visits to my parents' house to bikeekly from weekly. If gas prices get much worse, it will have to be monthly. May have to cut off the cable soon and I will be sad because then I won't be able to watch CNN. Hopefully the democratic party can turn it around so that people can enjoy life again. Conservative or Middle Class people who have better jobs and more education may be happier, they are not experiencing the negative effects of decisions as much. Liberal, Lower Middle Class or Poor people really feel the effects of the decisions made, the economy, their jobs, their money and don't have safety nets to protect them, which lead to more unhappiness. It is high time that Americans think more about their spending habits and its effect on their personal welfare and the welfare of the planet as a whole. So if it takes a recession to help us change our ways, I'm all for it.
