If the mission was and continues to be about the US losing it's credibility, we've certainly accomplished that. We need to realize once and for all that we have no right being a policing force in this world.

Mission Accomplished? Tell that to the 4064 troops we've lost. Who thought this idiot of a commander in chief and his flunky bunch of duds could make another know-it-all Texan and his bunch of whiz kids look like brilliant war strategists, LBJ in case you can't figure who the know-it-all is.

Define, IN EXACT DETAIL, the terms "mission," "accomplish," and "winning." This is part of the problem, the MSM are loath to nail Bush's hide to the wall and force him to be very specific. As long as Bush can weasly word his way through every day, the war will go on endlessly and only our soldiers will pay a devastating price.

Dear Jack:

There is no need for an answer from anyone except the President. What is important is the question--and the fact that you asked it.
Thanks.

Ladies and Gentlemen: The "Mission" truly was accomplished when it was found that Iraq did not have a WMD program. That was the mission. We were told to invade Iraq, because Saddam had ties to terrorism (Later proved false), and that he possessed an active WMD program (Also later proved to be false).
So yes indeed. "Mission Accomplished". And now hopefully the American public will wake up to the level of deception U.S. Intelligence Agencies have been forced to feed us.

Mission - clearly the current mission is to minimize the civil war in Iraq. And this is something that the American public is not being truthfully told. When the battle is between Sadr and his militia (and other similar groups) and the little Iraqi army - we are talking a CIVIL WAR. Yes, Iran is providing some support - but this is probably as much to keep the fight in Iraq and not have it come into its space.

The Americans are not supporting this mission - and Bush is clearly undeterred - just recall the Cheney comment 'So?'

Bush and Co should stop spinning this - but they have nothing else to show for their massively failed administration. They are even minimizing the Israel/Hamas expectations to see if something else can happen - how pitiful.

McCain will continue the Bush mission - so he can not come on board. Unfortunately the Dems are slicing each other up and forgetting this primary mission.

We can only accomplish this mission by dealing with Iran and Syria as well. It will never end. As far as the entire middle east is concerned. It is all or nothing. We started this and it will only be finished when we deal with each and every country.

What mission? That's part of the problem. The General doesn't know, the President doesn't know, Congress doesn't know, and the troops are the pawns in the middle of it all.

The mission WAS accomplished: President Bush was re-elected. That banner was as honest as it was cynical.

You can't instill a demomcratic system with bombs.

Uncle sam is basically clinching his fist at all of Iraq and telling them to "Be Free or Die"

And should they decide in favor of western style freedom, they will owe Uncle Sam money for the rest of their lives all the way to their great great great great grandchildren's.

Meanwhile a small percentage of our countries elite will prosper more (as the big corporate share holders) while the middle class and the poor continue to carry the burden.

Who hijacked my America?
