I wanted to vomit last night when McCain talked about how well Arizona is doing. If he thinks working for minimum wage, if you cannfind a job, is doing well then maybe he needs to get off his high horese and try it. Arizona has a major METH problem that comes in from Mexico along with the thousands of illegals he wants amnesty for. Our schools suck. Gas electricity and water are all at a premium. I hope someone asks him while he is in New Orleans about his pastor, John Hagee, who has said that “Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans.” I understand that Hagee has endorsed McCain and McCain has embraced his endorsement. If Obama can get in trouble for things his pastor said, then McCain should be held accountable for this. We need to devote a little media time to the Republican’s dirty laundry while the Democrats are busy airing theirs.

Seeing McCain walk the lower Ninth Ward for a photo-op is just as sad as witnessing the hapless Bush stage photo-ops there after the hurricane-when he actually found time to do something other than fly over it in a jet.

McCain’s policies of tax breaks for the rich and ignoring those who aren’t wealthy enough to pay capital-gains taxes make me wonder how effective a phony photo-op really can be for McCain. Fortunately for him, the photo-op will largely be ignored as voters deal with Hilary’s decision to continue a hopeless fight against Obama-a true leader of hope.

White House. I feel it is also riding the wave of the “eliteist” comments of Mr. Obama. Is he really trying to do something that Bush has almost never done which is reach out to the poor and poverished or is it just a slap in the face.
I guess we will have to decide with our own votes if dignity and honesty over ways this horse and pony show.

Mccain is using his touring to get as much face time as possible. People are going to vote for someone who they recognize. The more Sen. Mccain tours, the more likely people are to vote for him because they will think he cares about the american people, since he is spending so much time speaking with the people.

He’s just trying to keep his name in the headlines is all, wonder how much this is costing the taxpayers?

He’s going to the places where Hillary Clinton has gotten traction, so that if the Democrats nominate Obama, he’ll be poised to grab those votes. All the more reason for the Dems to nominate Sen. Clinton. You remember her, don’t you? The one who knows how to effect change instead of just talking about it.

All John Mccain is accomplishing is showing that he’s still young and energetic enough to run around to random places for no real reason. He’s also reminding people that Clinton vs. Obama isn’t the general election.

I am sure some would like McCain to be silent while Barak and Hillary discuss imaginary snipers and crazy pastors. But McCain is showing himself for what he is, a seasoned professional who knows his business. If that he makes him seem presidential, so be it!

Any time John McCain goes into a little or unknown area, we learn more about the people who live there. It is easy for us to gage people’s problems by our own. If John McCain can open his eyes to the real problems and we can learn what others are going through, then his tour is great. Of course, this is also one way to keep him in front of the press too.

McCain is a genious for this tour he is on. Everyone (Democrats) associate him with George Bush, and by doing this he is distancing himself from Bush. Even today he criticized Bush and the government
on how they responded to Katrina. And by doing this he is also reaching out to Independents and Democrats.

He’s showing us all the reasons not to vote for him.

The man is 71 years old. I’m pretty sure anything more strenuous than “touring” may cause cadiac arrest.

McCain wants to be seen as a Republican Democrat, that is no money for the poor but he cares.

I dunno what McCain is accomplishing, or thinks that he’s accomplishing. But has he got C-130 to haul all that, um, fertilizer that he’s spreading around with him on these “tours”. ?

John McCain, the senior citizen, tours the USA for the same reason that he occasionally tours Iraq. It is a feeble attempt to mask his totel indifference to the effect policies he advocates has on those who suffer the consequences.

John McCain can tour all he wants but the tour that makes me worry most of all is- “The Tour of Duty” - all the men and women fighting have to serve.

His visit to Katrina Ground Zero can only be important if he can back it up with all he did for the area at the time. He has held a powerful position in government for many years; surely he could have hellped a lot. DID HE?

By McCain “touring”, he is trying to show how he is different from President Bush. Perhaps he should have worked a little harder on that the past 7 years. Past deeds always have a way of surfacing when you need them least. I would have voted for him in 2000, and thought he was different when he fought against Bush’s tax breaks for the wealthy………………..then he fell into the Bush lock step.

I don’t know what he has accomplished by touring, but it certainly was not an impressive showing in the Pennsylvania Primary. After all the votes were counted, Ron Paul ended up with 16% of the Republican vote and he never stepped foot in the state. That has to say something about the feelings of the electorate and the advantages gained from traveling.

I think McCain’s tour is great. It gives us that live here in Arizona hope that he may make a trip here some day………

It has been long said that the Republicans do not campaign for the Blacks vote or the votes of lower class Citizens. Senator McCain seems to know that this is the feeling of disadvantage Americans. Jack, did you listen to what McCain actaully said? He said that if Katrina would have happened on his watch then he would have landed airforce 1 immediately to check it out himself personally… that’s it? The fact of the matter is that whether the president would have checked out the situation immediately or a week later, that would have NOT saved any lives! George Bush knew about Katrina even before it happend and did nothing about it and in essence John McCain is saying the same thing. If he (McCain) wants to prove that his presidency would not be a continuation of the current administration, he is going to have to do a better job than that!

He knows what all Republicans know: Obama is not closing the deal and the although he might get the democratic nomination through Daleystyle backroom dealings, the Republicans smell blood and are just keeping McCain in the public spotlight. The Republicans, given the exit polls in OH and PA know that they can run Snoopy against Obama and win… I would even say they could get Bush elected to another third term if Obama is the nominee.

It appears he is pretending to be another “compassionate conservative” (heaven forbid) . Too bad his votes do not match up with his rhetoric. He’s accomplishing exactly what he need to accomplish. Saying whatever he wants while noone that could contradict him is paying attention. So he gets a few months to get “his” ideas in the minds of voters with no interference. McCain is trying to soften his image because he is a demogog behind the scenes. I know this personally when he undercut us precinct representatives at a state convention. I’ve also met him at fundraisers and felt uneasy with who he is.

The bigger question is: “Why isn’t he doing his job in his seats on capital hill?”. He has no reason to be abscent from the job he was elected to do.

But, what I do know is that one of those days that Bush was not responding to Katrina he was at an airforce base having a photo-op with Bush over his birthday cake.

The reason McCain tours so much is so that know one will focus on his past records of voting against MLK day and voting against affirmative actionor realize he is the biggest supporter of the War in Iraq but didnt even bother to vote to approve the Military budget for this year. John McCain had an opportunity to visit New Orleans right after Katrina just like every other politician but didn’t do so. He’s running for the Presidency now and will make his visits but if or when he takes office nothing will change from how this Administration has done things.
