It means she is unelectable and that if she still lags in the delegate count she should absolutely do the right thing and graciously bow out of the race (if it's even possible that she can be gracious). If she doesn't, and the convention ends up resembling the raucous convention of 1968, she will have established her legacy – for destroying the democrats chances of retaking the White House.

I know you are getting a lot of flak about your alleged "anti-Hillary" bias Jack, but hang in there – the numbers speak for themselves. Besides, I'm pretty sure you're going to vote for McCain in the fall anyway.

In my humble opinion, I think there are two reasons for the decline in her positive rating:

It means that all of the garbage coming from Obama,the republicans and the media have taken their toll and the public has been brainwashed. Obama has come across as a savior and the second coming without actually having said anything about his policies and views. The republicans believe that they will easily beat Obama and probably will. Hillary has told the cold,honest truth about the future,but nobody wants to hear that. The public is easily fooled by charlatans and snake-oil salesmen.

It means that the people are finally seeing her for what she is... a lying, cheating, unethical, desperate and power-hungry candidate who obviously will stop at nothing to win.

That's easy Jack, it's because the public has been getting a daily dose of Mrs. Clinton. There watching cable news and lisening to her and her hit team a.k.a. Mr Carvill and the rest of the old teams cronies! We've been there and done that.

Hillary Clinton – to know her is to dislike her. A dirty trick like getting her big-money donors to pressure Rep. Nancy Pelosi is just one from her repetoire. Attempting to abrogate agreements not to campaign in or count delegate votes from Florida and Michigan is another. She talks out of both sides of her mouth and neither side says anything honest. That's why her ratings are sinking fast, just like her campaign – straight into the gutter.

Well it means the MEDIA has done their job! The glass ceiling still prevails. What do you not like about Hillary or the Clintons the Prosperity or the Peace?

Why are the Media not asking the important questions? What has Obama done since being in office for his state? Why does Obama only vote present and does not make decisions?

Do Americans care about having a qualified President? Do Americans want Obama to split the party and the country?

It means that people like me, who were too young to understand what was truly going on in the 90's and defended her out of youthful optimism and misguided feminist solidarity, are now realizing that we were wrong. Anyone that has had the time to follow the Democratic race from Iowa to now, including most of the debates, has seen Hilary's numbers (pick any of them) deteriorate. She was supposed to blow out this process by beating her opponents by 10 points or more in every measurable category: votes, delegates, etc.
She, like the rest of us, has been surprised by Barack's popularity and political skill. He has brought out the crowds, the voters and the funds to not only compete but to beat Hilary. SHe is tenaciously staying in this failed campaign for ego and pride, much to the detriment of her political party. Her current desperate tactics have engendered the rise of her negative ratings. This is the only number in which she will excel.

Surprise, Hillary's public description of her Bosnian trip has now been proven false and by extension, herself a phoney. Today's proof is in the "poll's" which speak for themselves.

When will the American populace face up to the true reality of their collective situation? Your very well intentioned principles of freedom were hijacked long ago by unscrupulous bankers intent on realizing their personal agenda. Conequently and regardless of who's elected, you have a phony in office that's powerless to do the good work of the people.

I employ the term "phony" because the evidence clearly proves that those running for office are well aware of the true nature of government and yet stand prepared to tell you whatever they think you want to hear in exchange for your vote.

In the post elction environment the public then stands amazed and befuddled because government is incapable of doing that which was promised during the campaign?

After all the mudslinging, infighting, backstabbing, hypocritical, embellishing, misinformation the Clinton campaign has thrown at Obama, the American public is beginning to wake up and realize what she is doing. She's down in the polls yet "Bill" insists his family are not quitters. This is a referendum on Hillary's personality. Her policies have not changed much, her attitude has not changed much, yet she continues to slide. I don't hold much stock in the polls. They change by the day. When someone wins who was supposed to lose according to the polls all the news media can say is, we did not see that one coming. Unfortunately for Hillary, people already had a negative view of her, what whatever reasons. I think this campaign has brought out the claws that everyone seemed to know she was hiding. Maybe people are just more tolerant of Male candidates when it comes to running a fierce campaign, and the lengths that it entails. Do we expect more of a woman candidate? Should she be nicer? She can't be too soft. I think it's a catch22 for her.

Well Jack, apparently her effort to let people get to know her over the last year has worked. You know. She brought it on herself, although Bill certainly helped. It wasn't that long ago that I would have been happy with either candidate. But she seems to have looked at polls that showed her trailing, and decided to try to bring down Obama rather than boost her own standing. That has turned off many Americans, especially democrats, and made her look uglier than ever. It's too late to fix it now. That sweet side she once tried to project has been permanently soured.

It is evidence that the perception a good plurality of the American people have had about Hillary Clinton since the 1990's - that she is calculating, negatively inclined, secretive and will shave the truth or embellish it to serve personal ends - is being reinforced by watching her behavior and listening to her comments over the past several weeks. It isn't something many Democrats want to revisit - the lingering controversies she and Bill were part of a decade ago! If she fails to take the high road in some of these matters - like bringing up Rev. Wright this week when her truthfulness was under attack - then she compounds the negative perceptions. The chant "Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton" becomes something I consider frightening rather than positive and transformational. You think her negatives are high now - just wait until the Republicans take aim at her if she becomes the presumptive nominee. It will be gutter politics of the worst sort - and she will respond in kind. Just what America needs now - personal invective! That will help the cost at the gas pump and get my neighbor home from Iraq!

This is the result of the scorched earth strategy. The If it no me than am going to destroy the Democrat chance is starting to irritate peoples. Whether or not it's true, people have come to view Clinton as severely lacking in this regard.

Hillary's ratings reflect a combination of her super negative approach lately along with the fact that she seems to like stretching the truth. Examples are her recollection of her NFTA support in the beginning and the run from the plane in Bosnia. With the numbers the way they are, she needs to bow out of the contest and let the democratic party get on with reclaiming the White House in 2008.

It means she's done and it's time for the Clintons to face it. The formidable Clinton machine may have fit the way politics once worked, but people are obviously becoming morre nad more turned-off by slash-and-burn political mud-sport and are flockiing to something different..

It's not surprising that Senator Clinton has the worst positive rating of the two candidates. She's taking the percieved 'innocence' from Obama and turning him into a less attractive candidate. I think the entire family needs to go sit down and shut their mouths.

Here's my dream ticket – Jack Cafferty for President and Lou Dobbs for Vice President. Or was that Dobbs/Cafferty? Maybe you two should slug it out in a no-holds barred, Texas style steel cage match.....just like these two should.

In the latest Rasmussen poll of PA, Clinton leads Obama 49% to 39% and her favorable rating among likely Democrat voters is 68%. Don't guess the people in PA have heard they are way behind the curve. Wonder where they are getting their information on Sen. Clinton

It means that more and more of us Democrats are seeing her viscous, unscrupulous, bottom sucking, dishonest campaign as a very good indication of what kind of person Hillary really is, and what kind of president she would be. There seems to be nothing Hillary Clinton and her minions will not do or say in order to get the nomination even if it means permanently hurting her opponent. Hillary Clinton's positive rating hasn't really changed much. From the beginning of this campaign there have always been a large number of people who would not vote for a Clinton under any circumstances. Personally, I would have voted for her when the campaign started, but I have joined the "not under any circumstances" group because of her scorched earth approach to winning the nomination.

The problem is not the negative poll numbers for Hillary as the soft ride and constant criticism of her expressed by you and CNN that manages to pull her down, she is smart and one of the hardest workers for democracy that I have ever known and I am 76 years old. His thoughts on the economy are scary. One is left with the feeling that he knows nothing and is just waiting for another big word to mouth. How can her positive ratings ever go up when YOU, the media, will only show her in a negative light. You can't ever say anything positive about her. I think these polls just show that the American people are not quite as dumb as the Clinton campaign had hoped. They are the ones who stated that they would use the "kitchen sink" strategy. Throw everything and anything at Sen. Obama and see what sticks. Well, it seems that their strategy has come full circle to bite them in the but. The American people are sick of politics as usual and they do want a new type of leadership in this country. Sen. Clinton has stated that everybodys vote should count, and then in the same breath talks about how pledged delegates are not locked in. People see this for what it is typical washington double talk.

It means that some people finally came out of their coma and saw how stupid they had been to support her from the beginning. I don't believe all of the others will ever come out of their denial of Hillary's inability to be a leader or ever tell the truth, they are in a trance or under her potion of poison of negativity.

It simply recognizes the American voter as more intelligent than the press and politicians give us credit for. the voters are able to read through the array of information they are presented with and still come up with sound judgement that continues to make nonsense of the attempts of looser politicians and an unfair press to hood wink us. Above all, it confirms my belief that the voters have become so disgusted with the unfair presentation of information by an unfair press that like me they depend entirely on the only two unbiased discussion programs in America to make up their mind. Go Wolf Blitzer! Go larry King! Also I hope that the failure of the pundits to force their unimaginative and self serving opinions down our guts as revealed by the polls, will serve as an incentive for them to do the right thing by learning the sacred art of telling it as it is from both Larry and Wolf.

It means this poll was done by someone wishing this conclusion to trumpet around. In 2001, who had heard of Obama? Obviously, the public is split now between Obama and Clinton- so, these racially divided, gender-biased "popularity" polls will be split too- meaning, it was inevitable that her score will go down. At the end of the day, it is about who can get stuff done, take positions on issues, and not just vote "present" to avoid heat or say one thing publicly, then privately say "this is just for politics". If you can't take the heat stay out of the white house!

It means that more than a year of campaigning has allowed the American people to see Hillary Clinton's true colors. Perhaps an indication, if the polls reflect reality, that the public is finally realizing that she is not so much interested in what is best for the country, or her party, but rather in what is best serves her own political destiny. Initially she calls for all votes to be counted (Florida and Michigan) then yesterday floated the notion that even pledged delegates should vote whatever way they choose ignoring, if necessary, the primary and caucus results. I would love for the children in this rural area to have the opportunity to see and hear a former president, but his belief that Obama must stoop to his level makes him an embarrassment to Americans. If she spent as much time honestly selling herself instead of trashing her opponent, she might look presidential, but right now she looks like a loser that is too desperate to be rational.

Falls from grace are not always quickly realized. Sometimes it takes a cumulative effect for some of them to actualize. And so it is with Hillary Clinton. The mistakes of her husband , former President Bill Clinton, coupled with the rubbish she is purporting on the American Public ("I misspoke") , has become to much to bear. Maybe were back to "It depends on what your definition of "is" is! No wonder her ratings are the lowest since 2001. This translates to: Do the Democratic Party a favor and unite it by bowing out of the campaign.

I think it means voters see her for who and what she really is. Unfortunately, we as a collective always gravitate towards the bully and make excuses for the cover-ups, lies and missteps, and that is why she still has a chance to steal this thing despite what we all know is the right thing to do. I would be more concerned if Obama had not been left alone for so long when the race began. I want to wait and see how her ratings are now that Obama has his own problems - the next primaries will tell the tale.

This woman, who has done nothing to garner such ridicule, has been bashed by the media since her husband was running for President. I think it shows that people are tiring of Senator Clinton to an even greater extent. Issues of character are becoming clearer with every attack, expedient spin, and exaggeration. And it seems more and more as though her personal ambition is trumping any concern about the party's health and the future of our country. The longer she pursues the negativity the more these poll numbers will trend badly for her. A few more months of this, even if she won the nomination, she would be a large underdog in the general election. Bill Clinton confirmed it last night with his SADDLE UP and LET'S HAVE AN ARGUMENT speech. It is fueled by Florida and Michigan re-do elections paid for by Clinton, threats of lawsuits in our state, and now proposed constitutional changes by some Florida lawmakers.

There seems to be an effort underway to make Speaker Pelosi ineffective and Clinton is trying to start a knife fight among pledged delegates. Her fat cat supporters are starting on the super delegates.

If the Clintons succeed, American voters, fed by headlines and soundbites, will inevitably start an all out civil war on this election. The animosity felt on all these blogs today will be nothing to what that would bring.

It just shows that people are annoyed by her win-at-all-cost personality. I think she should quit the Democratic party and start a singing career : after all she is distantly related to Celine Dion, Alanis Morrissette and Madonna.

It is a character issue. The poll confirms, again, that she is not a uniter. Her campaign thrust has been to claim the presidency as though the country owed it to her. It is time that we passed the baton to some new person breaking the succession chain- Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton. If not, it will be Jeb and Chelsea next in line. It tells me that as things start to wind down and the candidates approach the finish line in this horse race Hilary Clinton is coming up lame. That is the thing about a race. I think alot of us are tired of the infighting, most of it makes Hillary look desperate. It would also appear Hillary is either not the brightest crayola in the box, or purposing trying to mislead America.

In reviewing the entire primary season it is striking to me that Senator Clinton is in the fight of her life – and she should not be at this stage. She went in to this contest with the most name recognition, the most funding, and as a candidate who seemingly had the democratic party machine at her command. Instead, she is fighting a rival candidate who was not nearly as well-known prior to the start of the primary season and not a major player in the democratic party. What does this say about her as a candidate? It says to me that while her supporters are ardent and maybe even militant about her, there are more people – Democrats and Republicans – who are just as ardent and militant about not having her as a candidate. It does not bode well for her.

I'm from Missouri, the state who's primary chooses the presidental winner. in 2008 the two party winners, McCain (R) got only 194,053 votes, while Obama (D) got 406,917 votes.

Of course, Clinton's ratings are low. To improve her rating she needs to do more than "mispeak" about her own accomplishments while critizing Obama's pastor. If the rev had said something like "our nation is......(critize here about your favorite issue), and will bring down the judment of ...(fill in your diety here), he would just be using far more socially acceptable language than Obama's former pastor.

In public office you are the result of your actions and perception. In other words when you have to cover yourself with comments like "I mispoke" versus sorry I lied it causes a negative result. Amazingly, The poll does uncover that 37% are die hard Clinton supporters no matter what.

Hillary's positive ratings are lower because she has never been honest in telling supporters that she must fight a different battle than Obama because being V.P. for her is not an option.
