what a shame to china!! The olympics are supposed to be a union of all the nations of the world for sport but the host country is engaging in it's own thugery of a peaceful and spiritual way of life. The tibetan monks are living in peace and live a spiritual life. China, leave TIBET alone!!

We might not have to do anything. If the Tibetans keep up the pressure on the Chinese, we'll have another Tiananmen Square debacle on our hands, and we'll have no choice except to tell them to clean up their house if they want us to come back for any reason at all. I, for one, would love to see a massive walkout during the opening ceremony at Beijing, and if the Tibetans keep it up, The Chinese will accommodate the world.

china should never have been considered as a location for the olympics in the first place because of their lack of humane treatment of their own citizens even before the tibet issue came to a head.

they have never been a civil rights leading nation

One more thing Jack - if America went back to being self-sufficient, i.e., US Steel, toy factories, etc., China would never have been granted the Olympics in the first place, joblessnes in America would be near minuscule, the Pentagon wouldn't be paying $100.00 for a hammer that breaks, simple screws wouldn't contain lead - oh wait - that would make the US Dollar worth more - can't have that! There would be nothing for politicians to run on! Looks like we are heading for the CCC again like back in the WWII era - and a return to the hometown credit lending facilities. Sometimes, going backwards is better than going forward. The WORLD should boycott the Olympics and have a "World Games" in another human rights respecting country instead.

I'd say that it's MORE than bad enough already!

Already, I find myself embarrased at the thought that even one American, regardless of athletic status, is found in attendance at the Olympics.

A country that is brutally savaging a peaceful nation (Tibet), as well as poisoning the food and toys that they ship our country, should not prosper from our participation in "games" and "celebrations".

The important symbolism and historic tradition of the Olympics notwithstanding, we must all look to our own moral values and humanitarian principals, and DRAW THE LINE at supporting something that threatens us Universally.

(Bush can go if he wants to - he barely counts as an American, and has demonstrated that saving face is always the most important thing)

Jack, China is holding the world to ransom with her emerging economic power. I expected President Bush and the White House to have rebuked China after her remarks on Speaker Pelosi. Is it because she is not Senator Maccain? I expect a total boycot of the China Olympics to make China have a rethink about Tibet and Darfur.

Mr. Bush doesn’t know where Tibet is, may be he is planning to visit it during the Opening ceremony.
Jack, It won’t make any difference if we boycotted the Olympics? Chinese will be very much happy; they will lead the Medals Chart all over.
They are destroying one of the most beautiful & peaceful nation on Earth by invading.
