Last time I checked, MLB was not governmentally controlled -- so why is Congress involved here? To prove that there is steroid use in sports? We've all been aware of such fact for years! As members of Congress are known to have the highest absenteeism -- perhaps this is a way they can get on camera to evidence that "they are doing their job". As a taxpayer in the most miserable tax bracket (the middle class) -- I can't believe that my tax dollars are being spent on this ridiculous exercise! As with most of these congressional investigations -- it just makes for tabloid tv! I don't recall any beneficial legislation resulting from any of these investigations. And while we're at it, how come members of either house that run full-time for another office, for like a year or more--and I play no party favorites here, even though I support one--don't have to take a leave of absense so those of us back home who elected them can actually get some representation while they persue their higher goals!!
