For example, isn't the control of agricultural pests (one of the items in your list of recent "pork barrel" spending examples) a worthwhile expenditure? In my opinion, the worst example of wasteful government spending is the hundreds of billions spent on the war in Iraq, and all the "pork barrels" in the world cannot even come close to competing with that!
